This 8mm and 10 mm kit is designed for;Solid fuel flues, gas flues, oil flues, Biomass flues, biomass inducting tubes and ducting.It is not advised to use the 8mm for solid fuel.This kit is highly flexible and the 8mm rods can be tied in a loose knot, so will tackle flue seemingly impossible with other methods of sweeping.The kit comes as standard with;
Due to the flexibility of the 8mm rods (able to be tied in a loose knot) it is recommended that you only sweep to a maximum 10m and flue diameter of 125mm (5 inches), should you wish to clean a taller flue, add the 10mm rods to the base and continue to sweep.The 10mm rods will sweep up to 15m of 6 inch flue (150mm diameter) and you can add the 8mm rod as a leader rod, for harder accessed flues.These rods will tackle some of the more trick bends you can find on appliances, and the head and ferrules are brass, and therefore highly resistant to acidic environments, being made of non-ferrous metal.Due to the rods thickness they can be cut so it is advisable to use a rod guide (included in the kit) wherever possible. Also be very aware of sharp edges (such as rain caps) that can score or cut the rod. Always spin he rods and keep movement in a forward or backward direction. Should you stop this motion and rotate the rods in a static position, there is the possibility you could cut the rod, due to a sharp edge.
